The graph below shows the average monthly change in the prices of three metals during 2014. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph illustrates the average monthly price variations of three metals during 2014, in comparison to earlier months. Overall, all three metals saw an increase in prices through most of the year, with nickel experiencing the most significant changes compared to zinc and copper.

Nickel showed the largest fluctuations, particularly in January and February, where prices rose by 6% and 4%, respectively. The upward trend continued over the next three months, with price increases between 0.5% and 1%. However, from June to October, nickel prices fell by 1% to 3%, before recovering with a 1% increase in both November and December.

Similarly, zinc prices dropped only during the period from June to October, by no more than 1%. February, March, and December saw the biggest price increases for zinc, with rises of 3%, 2%, and 2%. In contrast, copper prices were more stable throughout the year, increasing by no more than 2%, with a slight decline of around 0.5% from May to June. (176 Words)
