SOUTHWEST AIRPORT

The plans illustrate Southwest Airport as it is now and as it will be next year following redevelopment. In general, the airport will expand to accommodate more gates, with new facilities added to enhance convenience for departing and arriving passengers. The departures entrance is situated on the left when facing the building. Upon entering, passport control and security are directly ahead. After the redevelopment, a bag-drop area will be introduced in the departures hall before reaching passport control. Although the check-in counters will be moved to accommodate this new bag-drop area, they will still remain just before passport control. The cafe, however, will be relocated closer to the entrances.
After passing through security, passengers will encounter some shops, a feature currently absent at the airport. Ahead lies the concourse. Presently, there are 8 gates, and passengers can use a moving walkway to reach their boarding gates. In the future, the concourse will be extended, featuring 18 gates, and the walkway will be replaced by a sky train. ( 216 Words )
